Calling Time on Age Discrimination

|
The Employment Equality (Age) Regulations are effective from the first of
October 2006. This means that employers are no longer allowed to discriminate on the grounds of age, although there are some exceptions. The regulations cover employment, training, and adult education but not the provision of goods and services. The law affects areas such as recruitment, redundancy, unfair dismissal and statutory sick pay. It includes direct and indirect discrimination and applies to people of all ages.
