Intergenerational Projects

Groups of older people

Trading Skills between Ages is an intergenerational project involving children between the 8-15 years attending schools in the more deprived areas of South Ribble. Funded by The Rank Foundation, the aim is to recruit volunteers to work with the pupils to combat obesity, promote the benefits of healthy eating, exercise, citizenship and other relevant skills.

The Respect for All project is funded by South Ribble Borough Council and the aim if this project is to liaise with local agencies involved with young people to assist in breaking down the barriers between the generations and to tackle the problems of juvenile crime and anti-social behaviour.

This involves group activities with older people supporting younger people in a safe environment and sharing understanding and respect for each other.
