Community Services

Groups of older people

 
The aim of the Community Services Team is to offer timely support to older people who need a help in hand to remain independent and motivated within their own home.

Every year this small department of staff and volunteers offers help to approximately 8,500 older people, making 48,700 contacts per year. Some of those contacts are on the phone and some are by letter but 12,700 of those contacts are face to face home visits

We have six support services that offer that little bit of help. (Click links for more)

  1. Community Links, a befriending service.
  2. Home Support, practical and emotional help around the home.
  3. Supported Shopping, a crisis, assisted or internet shopping facility.
  4. Foot Care, basic toe nail cutting.
  5. Carers Access to Health, supporting Carers to attend medical appointments.
  6. Being Wise, Keeping Well offers a range of home safety checks and advice.
