The Withy Trees Day Support service provides specialist care and support
for older people who have physical or mental frailty and are residing in
the Preston District.
The service has been developed to reflect the needs and capabilities of
individuals attending the centre and is also responsive to the needs of
carers offering respite, information and advice, and emotional support.
The day centre is open six days a week Monday to Saturday and Bank
Holidays with the exception of Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Years
Day. An out reach service available Monday to Friday 8.00a.m. to 8.00p.m.
provides additional support in the individuals own home.
This flexible and responsive service ensures a smooth transition from home
to day care and enables carers to access respite at short notice.
An individual care plan is agreed with each service user and their carer
this will take into account their aspirations, dietary requirements,
physical and mental capabilities, hobbies and interests.
The centre has an adapted bathroom with reclining bath suitable for people
with mobility problems. Trained staff will assist service users wishing to
bath whilst at the centre. Hair dressing and assistance with personal
grooming are also offered.
Transport is provided using our own specially adapted mini-buses with
assistance from an escort. The centre offers a warm and friendly
atmosphere where older people can come to socialise relax and join in the
activities.
