Aids on Prescription

Simple aids to daily living on prescription to help you do everyday things. There are many types of equipment available to help you live as independently as possible as you get older or if you have a disablility.

In Lancashire, it was introduced the use of prescriptions for some items of equipment, which gives you more choice and control over the equipment you receive.

How it works:

You will have been assessed by a health or social care professional. They will have decided you are entitled to receive equipment that will help make things easier for you.

You will get a prescription so you can get the equipment you need free of charge. You, a relative or friend takes the prescription to an accredited retailer of your choice to get your equipment. You can choose to top-up or upgrade your equipment if you wish.
