It's great to report on yet another fantastic Annual Conference and AGM held last week in the Great Room at Preston North End.
As in previous years the event was well attended with almost 100 delegates arriving on the day eager to find out more about getting “fit for their future.”
Tracy Collins, a lecturer in Occupational Therapy at the University of Salford, gave a fascinating talk about enhancing health and wellbeing in later life, and highlighted some tips and pointers including where more information can be found.
Pat Ascroft , an adventurous, intrepid ,exploring Gran, gave an extremely entertaining talk about her fundraising activities over the years that include arctic dog sledding, cycling in Cuba and climbing the Great Wall of China! We are hoping to challenge Pat to do a fundraising event for Age Concern Central Lancashire.
So many of the audience commented on what an inspiration she was to them and their generation.
The feedback for the day has been excellent and we are once again very proud of another successful and well attended Annual Conference and AGM.
“Enjoyed every minute of the meeting”
“Always a well-planned and supporting team”
“Very enjoyable and informative. Thank you – Long may we continue!”
“I loved Pat Ascroft’s presentation – how inspirational”.
Thank you to everyone who attended, and we hope to see you again next year.

We are delighted to announce that the planning permission we submitted to re-vamp Arkwright House has been granted!
It will be given a three-storey extension, as well as improvements to the interior, lighting and electrics, and work is expected to start next year. Our Chief Executive Linda Chivers has said: "We are delighted that planning permission has finally been approved. The rationale behind it is we are occupying a Grade II* listed building from which we deliver a great number of services to support older people."
