A truly touching story...

Earlier this year we were lucky enough to have this standing wheelchair donated to our city centre shop. The donator advised us that it was a valuable item which had been used only a couple of times and that he would like us to have it to not only raise money for the organisation, but also to enable someone in need to benefit from the use of this specialist piece of equipment.

When we assisted the purchaser in buying this wheelchair it was a moment that will remain ‘priceless’ to us forever. The gentleman helped his wife into the chair and lifted her into a standing position using the controls on the chair. The lady started crying; not through discomfort as the husband had feared but through being overjoyed at standing up as independently as she could for the first time in over ten years.

This is not an isolated incident. Customers leave our shop every week with equipment which will help improve their lives and increase their independence. It really is a delightful feeling to see this happening.
