On Tuesday 8th and Wednesday 9th March, our Dementia Services Team held an art event titled 'creativity through the seasons', and the work on display was produced by the individuals attending Dementia Services within Age Concern Central Lancashire.
Staff and volunteers within Dementia Services, which include Withy Trees, Charnley Fold day centres and Dementia Community Links, felt that it would be an opportunity to showcase the incredible, diverse range of arts that individuals have discussed, created and achieved.
The individuals who craft alongside us may have memory concerns, or a diagnosis of dementia, but they never cease to amaze us in what they are able to achieve.
Many weeks / months were spent taking time and patience to create the art work that was on display. Tasks were broken down and skills that the individual or carer may think have been forgotten are re-created without thinking. At other times we just “captured the moment”.
The event was an absolute success and we would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone that attended.
