Raising older LGB&T Awareness for Age Concern Staff

Raising older LGB&T Awareness for Age Concern Staff

Congratulations to members of our Promoting Independence Team who recently took part in an Older LGB&T Awareness training session at Lostock Hall.  The course was run by Age Concern’s award winning Older & Out Project which has been supporting older LGB&T people and raising awareness of older LGB&T issues in Lancashire for several years.  All who attended said the session was very informative and enjoyable and they looked forward to putting all they had learnt into practice.

The course aims to increase the participant’s knowledge of the issues LGB&T people face in later life and to help organisations identify the procedural and cultural changes required to provide a quality service to older LGB&T people.

The course runs for approximately three hours and is available FREE to care homes and other organisations working with older people in the care sector.  If you would like us to run a free course for your organisation contact the Older & Out Team on 01772 552897 or e-mail This email address is being protected from spambots.
