Volunteer’s week 1st – 12th June 2016
The retail teams gathered together at our new Leyland shop on Thursday 2nd June to enjoy a well-deserved get together during volunteer’s weeks,
The volunteers work tirelessly through a variety of roles to help our shops run effectively and smoothly from sorting, driving, PAT testing, window dressing and operating the till. Without volunteers in our shops it would be impossible to operate.
The retail staff put together a buffet with a selection of handmade cakes, a thank you gift and a free raffle with a prize for everyone, to thank their teams for all their help and support.
The atmosphere was lively filled with chatter and laughter and it was lovely to see the retail teams mixing and getting to know each other.
Presentations of certificates and pens were made by Our Chief Executive, Linda Chivers who made a small speech thanking the volunteers for everything they do. Linda mentioned that the income raised through our shops supports our free of charge, Community, Support and information service, which is a vital support service that last year alone helped older people access one million pounds in benefits helping them obtain the financial support they need to live.
From all the retail team and everyone at Age Concern Central Lancashire, from the bottom of our hearts, ‘Thank you’.
