In June a group of our volunteers, staff and older people visited the Harris Museum in Preston to look at their latest exhibition of ceramics.
The group aged from 68 years to 91 years young were so appreciative of the refreshments, the chance to see the ceramic exhibits, find out about some of the history of the collection and indeed handle some of them at the end of their visit.
Throughout the journey back to our Lostock Hall venue and since, we have heard quotes from them such as,
“What a beautiful building, I have never been here before but I shall be coming back and using my disabled badge so that I can stay for 3 hours to discover what else there is in there”
“I used to come here every week when I was at school and we would spend hours looking at all the exhibits, it brings back so many happy memories”
“I remember seeing all those scent bottles the last time I came – aren’t they just amazing, I will definitely be coming back”
“I think I will bring my grandchildren here to discover all of the exhibits they are wonderful”
“ It’s years since I have been here, it’s just as I remembered it – awesome”
A lovely experience was had by all. Thank you to all the staff at the Harris Museum who looked after everyone in our party.
