Mr Stuart walked into Charnley Fold to ask for help and advice because he felt “lost” and isolated as his wife had dementia.
A support worker for Dementia Community Links introduced them to the RVS lunch club. They now both attend on a weekly basis. Mrs Stuart enjoys getting dressed up and meeting people and says, “it’s lovely to have a few hours of normality” as the lunch club enables them both to enjoy a hot meal in relaxed surroundings.
Mr Stuart says when issues arise, he “parks them up” until Wednesday, because he knows someone at the lunch club will be able to advise or give him a contact name. “The lunch club has been a life line”.
