Living with Dementia

Living with the experience of dementia can be challenging. Whether you have a diagnosis of dementia yourself, or are caring for a person who has a suspected or diagnosed dementia, we may be able to be of help to you.

At Age Concern Central Lancashire we are developing a range of pioneering dementia services; this is in response to the individual needs and wishes of people whose lives are affected by memory concerns and the people who support them.

The following services are now provided:

  • Withy Trees Day Support providing practical emotional and personal care for older people living with dementia and offers respitefor their carers.
  • Charnley Fold Day Support based in Bamber Bridge providing care for some of the most vulnerable and mentally frail people
  • Community Links for People with Dementia enabling people with memory concerns to maintain independence and achieve wellbeing through meaningful activity and the pursuit of interests
  • Caring Cafe situated in the heart of the Charnley Fold Resource Centre, staff and volunteers are able to offer support and signposting in a friendly informal atmosphere
